John Stockton is a retired professional basketball player who is widely considered as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. He played for the Utah Jazz for his entire career, which spanned from 1984 to 2003.

One of the most memorable moments in Stockton's career came during the 1997 NBA Playoffs. The Jazz were facing off against the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals, and the series was tied at 2-2. In Game 6, with the Jazz down by one point and just seconds remaining on the clock, Stockton received an inbound pass and made a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to send the Jazz to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

But Stockton's success wasn't just limited to that one game. He was a ten-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA First Team selection, and a member of the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. He also holds the NBA record for career assists and steals, with 15,806 and 3,265 respectively.

Despite his success on the court, Stockton was known for his humble and unassuming demeanor off the court. He was a devoted family man, and he and his wife Nada raised six children together. In retirement, Stockton has continued to be involved in basketball, coaching youth teams and serving as an analyst for NBA broadcasts.

In the end, John Stockton's story is one of hard work, dedication, and excellence on and off the court. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game of basketball.
