Ronald Acuna Jr. is a professional baseball player who currently plays as an outfielder for the Atlanta Braves in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on December 18, 1997, in La Guaira, Venezuela.
Acuna began his professional baseball career in 2014, signing with the Atlanta Braves as an international free agent. He quickly established himself as a top prospect in the Braves' farm system and made his MLB debut on April 25, 2018, at the age of 20.
Since then, Acuna has become one of the most exciting and dynamic players in baseball, known for his combination of power, speed, and defensive prowess. In his rookie season, he hit .293 with 26 home runs and 16 stolen bases in just 111 games, earning him the National League Rookie of the Year award.
In 2019, Acuna followed up his impressive rookie campaign with an even better season, hitting .280 with 41 home runs, 101 runs batted in, and 37 stolen bases. He became just the third player in MLB history to hit 40 home runs and steal 30 bases in a single season, joining the likes of Alfonso Soriano and Jose Canseco.
Acuna has continued to perform at an elite level in 2021 and is considered one of the best young players in baseball. He has already earned two All-Star selections and a Silver Slugger award, and he looks poised to be a major star in the game for years to come.
