Mike Mussina is a former professional baseball player who played as a starting pitcher in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for 18 seasons from 1991 to 2008. He was born on December 8, 1968, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA.
Mussina played college baseball at Stanford University before being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the 1990 MLB Draft. He made his debut for the Orioles in 1991 and spent ten seasons with the team, becoming one of the best pitchers in the American League during that time.
In 2001, Mussina signed with the New York Yankees, where he spent the final eight seasons of his career. He was a five-time All-Star, won seven Gold Glove Awards, and finished in the top six in Cy Young Award voting six times.
